Community Development Society (CDS), with support from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India, has been implementing the Livelihood Skill Development Project since 2024. The project aims to help tribal communities, vulnerable groups, and economically weaker families improve their livelihoods through skill training and income-generating activities.
CDS runs two training centres at Thanlon and Pearsonmun, Churachandpur, Manipur. Through these centres, people are given opportunities to learn practical skills that can help them improve their existing livelihood activities or start new ones.
The project provides training based on the needs and living conditions of local communities, particularly those who depend on agriculture, livestock rearing, and other small livelihood activities for their income. The training includes both classroom sessions and practical work to help participants understand and use what they learn.
Since 2024, approximately 432 trainees have completed training under the project. CDS continues to make these opportunities available to eligible individuals, especially those from tribal and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Through this project, CDS hopes to help more families improve their income, make better use of local resources, and support themselves through sustainable livelihood activities. The project reflects the organisation's continued efforts to work with local communities and improve the living conditions of people in need.

Donate today to support vulnerable families, empower communities, strengthen livelihoods, and create lasting opportunities for a better tomorrow.
